Cardigan Finally Finished

Thank goodness my hand is better...I am able to craft! Yeah! I wanted to give a little update....here are the projects that I have finished! Yeah!

First is my cardigan which I have finally finished! I love the color! It's definitely going to be a go-to sweater for the spring! Here are the pics:

Pattern: Cropped Cardigan with Leaf Ties
Yarn: Caron Simply Soft Brites in Blueberry (approx 3.5 skeins)
Mods: Shorter body, shorter hem....still a good cardigan!

Second finished is my scarf that I made as a Christmas gift for a friend:

Pattern: Double crochets and chains (Basically made up as I went)
Yarn: Caron Simply Soft in Soft Blue
Mods: none.....this was my own pattern!

That is all that I have to report as of now...my next project to work on is another Christmas scarf for a very good friend! Peace!

Taking a little break...

I know...It's been a while since I did a post, but unfortunately, I have been dealing with an injury the past few days and really haven't knitted...oh well. I did do some knitting before my injury (I think I am getting carpal tunnel in my left wrist...oh the pain!)

Anyways.....let's start with what I have cast on recently. I started my first real knitted lace project! It's Juno Regina, a beautiful stole from Knitty's Fall Surprise! I am using the most amazing hand painted tencel yarn that I won on ebay...Since it is my first real lace project, I am taking my time and making sure that I read the charts correctly and everything! Here's a current picture:

Isn't it beautiful?

I am also working diligently on my Cropped Cardigan from Fitted Knits by Stephanie Japel...and I only have a few more rows of the one sleeve and then the seaming and making the ties..:) I wish I had a picture to show....:(

I have made some great progress on my Clapotis (also from Knitty...gotta love that place...) I have about 4 or 5 more repeats of the straight rows and then the decrease rows.....shouldn't be too long before I can wear it!

It's turning out nice....I love the way the yarn subtly stripes...it's going to be beautiful when I am done..:)

I also got my first Knit Picks order! It's beautiful yarn! I got some Shine Soprt in a beautiful coral color and some Lace Weight Gosssamer in a color called sweet peas, which is a combo of pinks and purples...

I can't wait to use this yarn!

Tha's all for now...hopefully I will have some FOs soon!

Cali!

So I joined the online knitting phenomenon...I made a Calorimetry and I love it! I had to heavily modify it because I had been reading on Ravelry that the original cast on was too big.

Pattern: Knitty's Calorimetry
Yarn: Patons SWS in Natural Geranium
Mods: Cast on 96 stitches and only did 8 repeats of row 5

Lelah and Drops Swing Jacket

I finally got around to taking pictures of my Lelah top! Here they are...sorry I look so down, I am dealing with one hell of a cold and just got home from work....I added straps because it looks better with them...they are just crochet chains with double the yarn. If I don't want the straps, I can push them inside the top and it can be strapless...

I added short rows so that the top fits really well. Here's a pic of the slope of it....

I also finished my Drops swing jacket....and I love it! Next time though, I am going to make a size smaller.....so that it fits even better...

It's very warm and comfortable...I wish I could have found better buttons, but the black ones work as well.

Updates

It's been a little while since I blogged about my latest crafty doings....I am pretty close to being finished with the Drops 103-1 Swing Jacket. I just need to finish the second sleeve and then sew the whole thing up and do the collar. I am currently looking for buttons to put on the jacket. I am probably going to put up pics of my completed Lelah....and of the jacket sometime in the beginning of the week (Tuesday-ish). :)

Lelah's DOne!

I finished my Lelah top yesterday...kind of. I need to get my sewing machine out and sew the elastic ends together and then sew the casing shut. I love the way it looks...debating on if and how I am going to add straps. I can't wait to take a picture of the top and show what it looks like. I also started the 103-1 Drops Pattern that everyone at Ravelry is loving right now. It's a chunky/fast knit that I should be able to get done very very soon.

Tomorrow I have to work on my grandmother's birthday gift. I think I am going to make some earrings for her. I am not sure what color and what style, but I know that she will love them!

A Little Project Update

I finished my Drop Stitch Lace Tank about a week ago...here's what it looks like. It only cost me around $10...:) I got these great flower buttons that just finish it off!

I love this top....it looks great when I actually do my hair and stuff....

I am also working on my Lelah Top....it's coming along nicely....Here's a nice little photo of just the lace...I had only done about 4 repeats of the pattern at the time that I took this photo

I am MUCH further along....working on the top part that is all in stockinette stitch. I can't wait to be done and that should happen rather soon as this is such a quick knit!

I have also joined the Clapotis band wagon....working on one and it's coming along nicely as well...here's a picture of it

I am much further along here as well...I took all these pics a few weeks ago...:)

Seaming and Lelah

I finally finished all the knitting on my Dropped Stitch Lace Tank! Yeah! I am going to work on seaming it tonight...I just need to seam the sides, but my seaming skills are not the best. I have also started my Lelah and it's a pretty easy knit....in the round, pretty lace, larger needles than anything I have done clothing wise....we'll see how that goes.

Work Sucks!

I spent so much time at work this weekend that I wasn't able to work on anything. I worked 13 hours on Saturday, 8.5 on Sunday and 8 hours Monday....pretty crazy. One of the other hostesses is on vacation, so of course we were horribly busy and I wasn't able to get out on time and I had to go in an hour early the past three days....I normally don't work quite that much. I wish I had more time this weekend to work on my projects, but I was WAY too tired. Tomorrow (or should I say today...lol) is a day that I am going to spend trying to finish my Drop Stitch Lace Tank....cross your fingers for me. I also am going to try to make a pillow or 2 for the living room...*note to self: take pics so everyone can see!* I also need to take pics of myself wearing all the things that I have on Ravelry Wish me luck!

Ravelry...where I spend all my time...

I am such a dork. I have spent so much time on Ravelry It's quite funny how a new site can take over your life. I have been on there so many times the past week, I haven't had a chance to even work on the many, many projects that I am working on. I need to do better with working on my various knitting projects (Drop Stitch Lace Tank from Fitted Knits and Summertime Tunic from Interweave Knits). I also have a couple of sewing projects I need to finish. I have a pattern for a Built By Wendy blouse that I need to work on and there is the blouse that I have sitting all cut out on my desk...plus the rest of the pillows that I promised my mom I would make for the living room. Anyways....I am off! I will post some pics soon!

Crafty Blog

I finally did it! I made myself a craft blog! Woo-hoo! Here is where I am going to chronicle all the crafty things that I do...plus some other things whenever the feeling hits me.

Ok. Here is the beginning. I have a few projects that I have in progress...eventually I will show all the things that I have already done, but that is another day....

Here is my Las Vegas scrapbook. Last year in October I went to Las Vegas for the first time! It was a blast and I used my digital camera to the fullest...taking as many pics as I could possibly take...and then I wanted to scrapbook the whole trip, so here are some pics of the pages that I have already done. I have a few more pics to scrapbook, but that will happen when the weather gets a bit cooler and I can sit for hours looking at all the papers I have and all the pics left....

And here is a look at the pics that I still have to scrapbook....

Here is a picture of the dress that I am currently sewing.....It's made out a pretty green jersey material that I bought from Wal-Mart for a dollar a yard. It's a super easy dress...I just haven't had the time to finish it. I have to add the straps and a band on the bottom. I love the way the material feels and looks....it's so comfy as well.

Well...there's the first post here. I am going to work on adding more...trust me!
